Mergent Online: Database Tutorial

Use Mergent's Bond Viewer to locate US taxable and municipal fixed income data. It is also where you can see the coupons for individual CUSIPs.

Search for Bonds

  1. Click the Bond Search tab.
  2. Search by Issuer, Issue Name, CUSIP, ISIN, Ticker, Industry Code, or Mergent ID.
  3. Select a date range if you know the Offering, Maturity, or Next Call date.
  4. Click Search.
  5. Click the CUSIP to see the coupon details and the bond. 
  • Current Ratings are taken from Fitch, Moody's, and S&P.

Mergent’s Country Insight provides political, economic, and commercial information on over 130 countries. It identifies changes in business risk and provides detailed analysis of a country's prospects in the short to medium term.

Mergent Country Insight provides two different country reports:

  • Mergent Country Profile - Mergent created document with country details from the CIA World Factbook and other data. Shows economics, international trade, foreign investment, etc. 
  • DnB Country Risk Profile - Dun & Bradstreet risk analysis shows the risk of investing or lending in a country. 

Search Country Reports

  1. Click the Country Insight tab.
  2. Select the Region or Country you are interested in.
  3. Enter date range (optional).
  4. Choose the document type, either the Mergent Country Profile or DnB Country Risk Profile (or both).
  5. Click Search.

Mergent’s Economic Research tab provides information on key economic indicators; predefined economic reports on GDP, employment, consumer and producer price indexes; and consumer confidence measures.

Mergent's Industry Analysis and Independent Research reports contain rankings and ratings (using a 1-5 scale) on issuers and/or stocks products. The analysis focuses on strength, relative valuation, and the price movement.
