Resources for Sexual Assault Awareness

As the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization, RAINN (Rape, Abuse, & Incest National Network) provides programs and support to help survivors, prevent sexual violence, and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice. RAINN also created and operates 800-656-HOPE, the National Sexual Assault Hotline, along with a live chat feature on the website.

The NSVRC strives to take cutting-edge research and society-wide trends and use that information to train individuals, communities, and service providers in best practices for responding to and preventing sexual violence. They provide resources and information for survivors, loved ones, educators, businesses, and media.

The NRCDV has been providing comprehensive information & improving community response to domestic/intimate partner violence for over 25 years. The organization has implemented a variety of initiatives and special projects nationwide to dismantle the structures of domestic violence/IPV, with many focusing on instances of IPV in marginalized communities most vulnerable to systemic violence.

NCADV'S mission is to lead the charge of demanding a change in conditions that enable domestic violence, including the systemic inequities of racism, patriarchy, sexism, and classism. The organization collaborates with others, both at the local and national level, to promote legislation and public policy that defends and respects all victims and survivors of IPV. NCADV also provides a cosmetic and reconstructive surgery program to those injured by intimate partner violence, memorializes the names of people who have lost their lives to an abuser, and provides resources on issues including recovering financially from abuse, sexually transmitted illness/stigma worsened by abuse, and reproductive coercion.

For over 30 years, Futures Without Violence has provided programs, policies, and campaigns to further the goal of ending violence against women and children worldwide. They train professionals and leaders including healthcare providers, judicial workers, athletic coaches, and many others in improved responses to gender-based violence. They work with community leaders and local/national officials to impact policy changes and educate constituents everywhere on the importance of healthy, respectful relationships. Futures also provides programming and educational resources to schools and teachers, from elementary to post-secondary education, to prevent gender-based and sexual violence from the outset of life.

1in6 provides support resources for men who have experience sexual violence or assault, along with serving family members, friends, partners, and service providers with online and community resources to get involved. 1in6 focuses on reducing the stigma placed upon men and masculine survivors, and lowering the barriers between them and healing.
