Community Service Resources

APH is recruiting a crew of Louisville-local, respectful, friendly, and fun individuals to spread APH’s message that “the future belongs to everyone.” Under the direction of the Community Relations Advisor, the Community Impact Crew will represent APH at various community events and provide support to ensure access at APH-affiliated activities. For example: at one event, crew members may teach children about Braille, lead Tactile Arts and Crafts activities, or distribute APH information and giveaways. At other events, members may serve as Sighted Guides for persons who are blind or low vision as they walk through an art gallery.

The Community Foundation of Louisville brings together individual donors, nonprofit organizations, businesses, and civic partners to transform our community through charitable giving. As a leader in social impact and innovation since 1984, we continue to grow and build on Louisville’s legacy of philanthropy by connecting the financial resources of our donors and their passions with our community’s needs.

With more than 350 members, the Rotary Club of Louisville is one of the largest clubs of Rotary International’s 34,000+ clubs around the world. Our Club has been serving others in this community and worldwide for more than 100 years.
We welcome guests and visiting Rotarians from all over the world at our weekly luncheon meetings in downtown Louisville every Thursday. Our programs involve prominent leaders in every field, and our membership represents the business and civic leaders of our community and our state.

Lions have a dynamic history. Founded in 1917, we are best known for fighting blindness, but we also volunteer for many different kinds of community projects - including caring for the environment, feeding the hungry and aiding seniors and the disabled.

We are a thriving organization of community and service minded men and women. More than 7,700 Kiwanis clubs in more than 80 countries make their mark by responding to the needs of their communities and pooling their resources to address community issues. Our motto is "Serving the Children of the World".

Kiwanis also plays a special role in developing future generations of leaders. K-Kids clubs in elementary schools, Builders Clubs at the middle school level, Key Clubs in high schools and Circle K clubs at the collegiate level are all Kiwanis sponsored organizations that teach community service and leadership skills to young people.

Brightside works to unite people in clean and green activities to beautify the city and foster community pride. We believe that a clean and green city promotes a high quality of life, which is deserved by all citizens.

Volunteers and community engagement are essential to Brightside's core values. Our community-wide clean-ups have empowered thousands of volunteers to help remove litter though our city. In the last 5 years alone, our clean-ups removed over 300+ tons of garbage from Louisville’s streets and parks. That is equivalent 20 semi tractor trailers completely full of waste!
