I Would Rather Be Reading is a nonprofit that provides children of greater Louisville access to trauma-responsive literacy support and social-emotional learning. Their services include after school programs, summer camps, reading mentoring, family engagement sessions, and professional development for educators.

Beginning as a summer program in 2018, I Would Rather Be Reading has since trained 29 trauma-informed reading mentors, partnered with 3 schools, and creating training courses for teachers and other nonprofits.

Big Brothers Big Sisters pairs children with volunteer role models from their community in order to create one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.

In Kentucky, the state with the highest rate of child abuse, Maryhurst is saving kids' lives. Our work prevents abuse, restores hope, and empowers survivors. At the first sign of conflict, Maryhurst's counseling program partners with families to strengthen relationships and protect kids' safety. For those whose histories of trauma have left them without a safe home, our residential programs provide a place of healing. As soon as kids are ready, our transitional living and aftercare services create pathways to permanency, stability, and better futures.

Established in 1880, the Home provides a range of important residential and community-based services. Serving more than 10,000 children and their families in Louisville last year, our programs include residential and community-based clinical treatment services, crisis and intervention services, therapeutic loving foster care and adoption services, and a pediatric convalescent center for children who are medically complex or terminally ill.

Safe Place is a national youth outreach and prevention program for young people under the age of 18 (up to 21 years of age in some communities) in need of immediate help and safety. As a collaborative community prevention initiative, Safe Place designates businesses and organizations as Safe Place locations, making help readily available to youth in communities across the country. Safe Place locations include: libraries, YMCAs, fire stations, public buses, various businesses, and social service facilities.

The Kentucky 4-H Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the financial support of the Kentucky 4-H Youth Development Program. Kentucky 4-H supports youth by providing research based programming, professional and adult mentors, leadership and job training, and opportunities to use their Head, Heart, Hands, and Health to better serve their communities. Kentucky 4-H has a presence in all 120 counties and reaches over 250,000 youth annually.
